Hi everyone, it's Kyota here again to
bring you another E-mail picks video. Today
I want to show you how to write a simple
message to your colleague to let him
know that you will be out of office. So I
have a colleague named Bill and he has
been with our company for only three
weeks. I'm responsible for training him
and so I've given him a few tasks to
work on. Now, tomorrow will be his first
day to work without me sitting next to
him because I'll be out of office all
day. Now, I'm not so worried about him but
I don't want him to panic when he
doesn't know what to do, so I want to
tell him that he can ask me questions
anytime -- anytime through Skype. Now he's
taking a day off today, so I'm going to
leave him a message by writing an e-mail
to him. So here's what I'm going to write:
Good morning, Bill. Just to remind you,
I'll be out of office all day tomorrow.
I'll be visiting Drive Tech and
attending a seminar after that. If you
have any questions about your tasks, feel
free to Skype me anytime. I'll try to
check my Skype from time to time.
Good luck, Kyota. OK, so I told Bill that
I will be out of office and I also wrote
the reason. I actually told him this
a week ago, so I wrote "just to remind you..."
And the most important part I told him
that "I'll be checking my Skype from time
to time" so he can ask me questions. It's
a simple e-mail, but if I were in Bill's
situation, I would like my senior colleague
to communicate these small things. OK,
so I'm going to send this e-mail to Bill
right now and tomorrow he'll enjoy a
day without me. OK, so thank you for
watching, that's it for today. I'll see
you next time.
