自分が準備している研修に、同僚から「見学したい」という要望がありました。見学は大歓迎ではあるものの、日時がまだ最終調整中なので、研修を案内するまでもう少し待ってもらいたい。

Hi everyone! Welcome to E-mail Picks. I'm sorry I was practicing my seminar an hour ago
because I'm delivering one very soon to
a client company. Now I use a lot of
voice in this job but unfortunately, I
don't have the toughest throat. Now I got
an e-mail from my colleague, Patrick, just
now and he was saying that he wanted to
observe the seminar. Of course I wouldn't
mind him observing but the problem is
the day and time of the seminar has not
been finalized yet. I'm still waiting for
a client to let us know when they would
like the seminar. They are a big company
and I understand that they have an
internal approval process, so I'm
guessing it'll take another few days. So,
I'm gonna write to Patrick to ask him to
wait just a little bit more until I find
out the exact date, so I'm gonna try to
buy some time. Here goes: Hello, Patrick. As much as I'd like to tell you the date of
my next seminar, we still haven't heard
from our clients about the time and day
they'd like us to come. It's likely that
they are going through a long process of
internal approval, since their
organization is huge. I will make sure to
pass on the information to you as soon
as I hear from our client. Best, Kyota.
OK so I'm using this pretty common
phrase: "as much as I'd like to..."
This means I would like to, but I
can't. Okay? I also shared my guess that
the reason our client hasn't gotten back
to us yet is because they have a long
approval process. Finally, I wrote "I will
make sure to pass on the information to
you as soon as I hear from our client."
Here, I'm not making any promises about
when I'll have the answer because I
really have no idea when our client
will contact us. So there you go, an e-mail
to buy time. So I'm gonna get back to
practicing the seminar and maybe get
some cough drops before that, so wish me
luck. See you next week.
