Hello and welcome to this Bizmates words and phrases
video series for Japanese businesspeople.
And today's phrase is I'll take care of it.
Don't worry. I'll do it.
But before that, let's look at our usual test.
OK. So, I hope you remember.
I'm going to say, you know, I think we should increase our budget.
You should say this. Could you elaborate on that?
And I'll give you more details. OK, I hope
you were able to do that. If not, practice it again.
OK, so today's phrase is I'll take care it.
A really useful one,
because it makes you sound like you are a good
businessperson, like you are taking action.
Because you're telling your boss or your colleague, hey don't
worry. You can trust me. I'll handle it. I'll take care of it.
Ok, But what I often hear is this.
You know if I ask Taro.
Hey Taro. Have you booked a room for our meeting?
He says ah no, not yet. I will do.
And it just doesn't, it doesn't have that same impact. I will do.
It sounds like some bad action movie.
I will do. So, you don't, you don't want that.
So a more natural style is like this.
So, Taro. Have you booked a room for our meeting?
No, not yet. I'll take care of it.
Really? Well, thank you very much. Yeah. I'll take care of it.
OK. So, we have a pause there.
No, not yet. And it's not I'll take care of it.
But again we have those four short words.
We put it together nice and smoothly.
We don't say I'll take care but it's I'll take care.
I'll take care of it... of it. I'll take care of it.
No, not yet. I'll take care of it.
You try. No not yet. I'll take care of it.
OK, let's try it with the question.
So, have you booked a room for our meeting? Perfect.
OK. So for homework, I want you to practice this phrase.
No, not yet. I'll take care of it.
Because next time I'm going to say something like this.
Have you made copies of the agenda for our meeting?
And I want you to say...
No, not yet. I'll take care of it. OK?
So please practice this and we'll see you next time.
Thank you.
