そんなときには、

と答えましょう。
行ったのは昨日かもしれないし、3日前かもしれないですが、
ちょっと前に行ったことがある、ということが伝わればいいのですね。
相手もナチュラルな感じに聞こえるはずです。

Thursday, oh no, not Thursday. Oh Tuesday, it was Tuesday.
You know, they try to give that exact information.
You know, I went there two or three days ago.
It doesn't matter when you went there.
OK, so you could say this.
You know if I ask
Have you tried that new Chinese restaurant?
You could say
Yeah, just the other day.
Oh, very natural.
Yeah, just the other day.
So maybe it was yesterday, maybe it was 2 days ago.
Maybe it was 3 days ago, I don't remember.
But that's not important.
What's important is I went there not so long ago.
Just the other day.
