新しい洋服を購入する前に試着し、周囲の人に意見を求めることってありますよね。
今回はそんな場面で意見を求められた場合に使えるフレーズを紹介します。
例えば、ヒカは新しいジャケットを着て、
“I just bought this new jacket.”「この新しいジャケット買ったんだよ。」と同僚のタロウに伝えました。
返答に「似合ってるよ。」と伝えたい場合、あなたがタロウなら英語で何と言いますか？
“It is fit for you.”「サイズがいいです。」
fitはサイズが合っている場合に使える単語ではありますが、今回は「似合ってるよ。」と言いたいので不自然です。
またサイズが合っていることを伝えたい場合は”It fits you.”と言います。
そこで
“Oh, it suits you.”「似合ってるよ。」
と言ってみましょう。”It looks very good on you.”も自然です。
