Point 55 ”I’ll go with…” 初級ビジネス英会話
初級者向けビジネス英会話 Bizmates for beginners 第55弾は、”I’ll go with…” です。
例えば、コーヒーショップや友人宅で「飲み物は何がいいですか?」と聞かれることありますよね。
今回は、そんな際に便利なフレーズです。
ヒカは同僚のタロウに”Do you want tea or coffee?”「コーヒーとお茶どっちがいい?」と聞きました。「コーヒーがいいな。」と返答する場合、あなたなら何と言いますか?
“I’ll select coffee.”「コーヒーを選択します。」
と言うと堅苦しく不自然に聞こえます。
そこで
“I’ll go with coffe.”「コーヒーがいいな。」
と言ってみましょう。シンプルな言い回しで、自然に聞こえます。
流れるように発音するのがコツ。ぜひこの表現を使ってみてください。

people
and today's phrase is I'll go
with. I'll go with.
What does this mean? We will find out, but first
let's do our test from the previous
lesson. OK so you have to ask me that
question.
Dyou remember? You want to ask if I
will stay
in Japan forever. But don't use forever.
What's a better word. OK that's right.
So, do you plan to stay in Japan for good? And I say yes yes they do.
I love it here. OK so I hope you got
that.
If not please watch the video again. OK.
Let's go onto today's phrase.
I'll go with. What does this mean?
Hmm, well here's what I often hear.
OK, so let's imagine Taro is my
colleague.
And I say to Taro, So Taro,
do you want to your coffee. I'll get it
for you.
and he says I I will select
coffee. OK, coffee. No problem. Here you
go.
it's a little bit unnatural to use
select in this case. Select is kind of a
formal word.
It's a little bit like a business word. And it's not used so commonly
in casual conversation. OK so what's
a more natural
way to say? Well
here we go. Here's a natural style. So I
say a Taro,
do you want tea or coffee? And he says
I'll go with coffee.
Very natural. I'll go with. I'll go with
coffee.
OK no problem. Here you go. Just
like that. OK let's practice
pronunciation.
OK, it's very simple. It's just I'll go
with coffee.
I'll go with coffee. You try. One more time.
I'll go with coffee. Excellent. OK so
please practice this.
And next time we meet OK
I will ask you, do want key or coffee?
And you say, I'll go with
coffee or tea. Its up to you. OK, we'll
see you in the next lesson.
