初級者向けビジネス英会話 Bizmates for beginners 第31弾は、”In my opinion,…” です。
同じ意味でも言い方を変えることで表現にバリエーションが増え、会話が自然なものになります。
例えばあなたの同僚から、
“Do you like our new poster?” 「この新しいポスター、どう思う?」
と意見を求められ、「ちょっと派手すぎると思うよ」
と、あなたの意見を答える場合に、あなたなら何と言っていますか?
“I think it is too colorful.”
もちろんこの言い方も全く問題はありませんが、自分の意見、気持ちを伝える際に、
いつも”I think…”ばかりでは、会話が単調になってしまいますよね。
そこでたまには別の言い方をしてみましょう。
“I think…” の代わりに、”In my optinion,…”を使って、
“In my opinion, it is too colorful.”
と言ってみましょう。アクセントがついて、ナチュラルな会話になります。
