word to help you with your daily
business conversation. So let's jump
right into it with our expression this
week which is "put our heads together."
So, to find out what this means and how to
use it, please stay tuned, but first let's
do a quick review of last week's class.
Alright everyone, so imagine someone asks
you: Do you you want to talk about
anything special? But you don't really
have a specific topic you want to talk
about. You just want to do some small
talk or some free conversation. So what
do you say? I'll give you five seconds to
think about it, okay? You ready?
Alright go.
Alright time is up if you said
"Let's just shoot the breeze" then that's
exactly right, good job and thank you
for remembering last week's class. Okay
everyone let's move on to "put our heads
together." So this is what I sometimes
hear: OK so we're facing a couple of
challenges in the office and we're
trying to think of a solution. We're
trying to think of a way to solve this
problem, so I say to Taro: How can we fix
this problem? I can't figure out how to
do this by myself.
Taro says: Well if we together think, we
can do it. Yes, I couldn't agree more
Taro. The more that we can help and work
together and think together, yes I think
the easier it will be to come up with a
solution.
So, yes more people thinking together is
better than one. Now if we "together think..."
yeah this is okay but not quite natural.
So instead we can say... yes: If we put our
heads together, we can do it. That's right.
So if we all think together
and if we all work on finding a solution
together, then we can solve the problem
much more quickly and much easier, okay?
So working together, thinking together,
we're putting our heads together, okay?
Alright so the pronunciation "put our
heads together" it's just as you see it
