“Oh no, I am hurry.”
などと言ってしまいそうですが、これはあまりナチュラルな伝え方ではありません。

こんなときには、

“I’m sorry. I’ve got to run.”
といいましょう。

とてもナチュラルな表現になります。

OK. I've got to run. What does this mean?

Well first, let's do our test. OK.
So I say, yeah I'm not feeling well. I'm going to go home.

You say...

OK, thank you, OK.
Did you get that? All right.

So today's phrase I've got to run.
What does this mean?

OK here's what I usually hear.
OK so I'm speaking to Taro, my co-worker.

And I say Taro, Taro, can I talk to you for a minute?
I want to talk about something. Can I talk to you?

And Taro is busy OK. And he says,
oh no, I'm hurry. Goodbye.

OK and he go. OK, oh no, I'm hurry.
Or I have to hurry up. Or I am in a hurry.

In a hurry is OK. But still, it's it's a little bit
unnatural here. Hurry, yeah.

A better phrase is this one.
So if I say, yeah Taro, can I talk to you for a minute?

Do you have time?
And he says, yeah, I'm sorry. I've got to run.

Oh, very natural. I've got to run.
It means I have to go now.

I have another appointment.
I have another meeting, yeah.

OK so let's look at pronunciation.
I'm sorry with a pause, I'm sorry.

And it's I've gota, gota. It's not I've got to,
but it's I've gota run.

I'm sorry. I've gota run. I've gota run.
You try.
