Hello, everyone. Justin here and welcome to another Bizmates for Beginners video lesson.
So, for this week's expression we are going to learn,
"No way."

It's very natural and very useful. So, how do we use this and what does it mean?

We'll find out in just a moment but first,
let's see if you can remember last week's expression.

So everyone, imagine I say,
"You know, after thinking about it,
I decided to move to Tokyo."

So is this a good decision or a bad decision?

Well I'm going to give you five seconds
to give me the right response. Are you ready?

OK, go!

And times up!

If you said, "Good call!
I'm sure it will be great for your career."

Then nice job, everyone. Thank you for
remembering and studying last week's expression.

So, moving on to this week's expression, "No way."

OK, this is what I sometimes hear.
So I have some great news and I'm sharing this great news with my colleague, Taro.

I say, "Guess what, Taro? I got a promotion!"

And Taro says,
"Really? That's great news!"

OK, thank you ,Taro. Nice job.

Now,really this is fine, it's very natural and it's used very often,

but if you want to use a different expression and try something a little bit different,

you can say,

"No way! That's great news!"


Very natural. So, "No way" can be used to respond to exciting news or interesting information.

So, for example, if someone says,

"Guess what? We just got a big contract!"

You can say,
"No way! That's great news!"


OK? Alright, so pronunciation is very simple.
Nothing special this week.

You can just use it the way it is written here.

No way. Okay? But to be natural make sure you pay attention to the intonation of your voice.

If you say, "No way." That's not so good. You have to say, "No waaay!" "No way!!"

OK? Alright, so please repeat after me,
everyone.

No way! That's great news! Your turn.

Good. OK, now after my sentence.

Guess what, Taro? I got a promotion!

Alright, very good everyone. Thank you.
