Point 154 ”Just in time”

初級者向けビジネス英会話 Bizmates for beginners 第154弾は、”Just in time” です。

“I’m sorry, my train was delayed. Am i late?”

“Oh, it’s okay, just!”

“It’s okay, you’re just in time!”

Hello everyone and welcome to this
Bizmates for beginners video series.

My name is Justin and I'm really excited
and happy to meet all of you.

Thank you always for watching our video
lessons here on Bizmates channel.

Now I'm going to be taking over
this video series from Hika,

but don't worry if you miss Hika's voice and
you want to see his bright smiley face,

you can do so every week because
Hika will be updating the Bizmates words and phrases video series
as always, ok?
So you can check out his content every week.

But for my first video lesson for you
I've prepared something really useful
and easy to remember.

So, today's expression is...

Just in time.

Now it's easy to remember because my name, Justin, is right here

ok but the expression is just in time.

So what does it mean? Well we'll find out
later on but first, let's do a quick review of last week's content.

Ok, so imagine I say, "How's the UK after the Brexit?"
You might say, "Well it's a crazy situation."

That's not bad, it's pretty good, but not
what we practiced last week, right?

So I'm going to give you five seconds to
respond. When this bar reaches the bottom,

time is up. Okay? Are you ready?

Alright, so "Hows' the UK after the Brexit?"

And times up! Ok, so if you said, "Oh, it's chaos!",

then good job! Nice work! You remembered the expression.

Hopefully everyone got the answer.
Ok, so let's move on to today's new expression.

That's right, just in time. Ok, this is
what I sometimes hear.

Now imagine I'm rushing, I'm running to
meet my colleague, Taro.

Ok, so I'm running...oh I'm so tired

oh I say, "I'm sorry, my train was delayed. Am i late?"

And Taro is going to say
"Oh, it's okay, just!"

Just Interesting. Just. Just what?

All right, now I've heard this, you know,
a few different ways for example like just time or just timing ok?

And it's not bad, but not very natural.

Ok, so to say it more naturally, all right,
I might say, "Oh, I'm sorry my train was delayed.Am I late?"

and Taro is going to say,

"It's okay, you're just in time!"

Good job Taro,
good job. So, just in time means you are right on time.

You were almost late, you were almost
late, but you arrived right on time.

Ok, so you are just in time.

Ok everyone? So, "It's okay,

you are just in time!" Now the expression here,

to say it more naturally and for rhythm

let's combine these two words together.
So "just" and "in" together becomes "justin".

Just like my name, okay? So, "It's okay,
you're just in time!"

All right, everyone, please repeat. Go ahead.

Exactly. Nice job. Okay, now after me.

I'm sorry my train was delayed. Am I late?

Very good. Okay, nice job, everyone. Thank you.

Alright so for homework, next week when I say,
"I'm sorry, my train was delayed.Am I late?"

You might say, "It's ok, just!"
No, you're not going to say that.

You are going to say...exactly! "It's okay,

you're just in time!" All right, everyone?

Okay, perfect! So that is it for my very
first video lesson, I hope you enjoyed it.

Thank you for taking the time to watch,

have a great week, and we'll see you next week!
