同僚と話すことってありますよね。
今回はそんな場面で使える表現を紹介します。

ヒカと同僚のタロウは、昨晩飲み会に行ったようです。

「昨日の飲み会、楽しかった？」とヒカがタロウに聞きました。
「うん。でも飲み過ぎちゃって。」と言いたい場合、あなたがタロウなら英語で何と言いますか？

“I drank too much.”
これでも勿論良いのですが、とても初歩的な言い方に聞こえます。

そこで、
“I had one too many.”
と言ってみましょう。とてもナチュラルです！！

idiom "one too many." OK here's what I
sometimes hear. So imagine Taro is

my co-worker, and Taro went to a drinking
party yesterday. Drinking party. And I say:

Taro, how was the drinking party
yesterday? Did you have a good time? And he

says "Yeah, Hika, I drank too much." Which is perfect. I drank too much -- no problem. But it's very

basic English. I drank too much. Too much beer, too much sake, too much whiskey... OK

but a very natural way to say this is
like this -- so I say: Taro, how was the drinking

party yesterday? And he says: I had one
too many. Very natural. Oh, you had too

much to drink! I see. Well you should
drink lots of water. Like this. So "I had

one too many" just means I drank too much alcohol. Very natural phrase or idiom. OK so

pronunciation, it's "I had one too many." I had one too many. You try... Good.
