友人や同僚との仲を聞かれることってありますよね。
今回はそんな場面で使える表現を紹介します。

例えば、ヒカは同僚のタロウにケンジとの仲について
“Do you get along with Kenji?”「ケンジとは仲よくやってる？」と聞きました。
「はい、いい関係ですよ。」と返答したい場合、あなたがタロウなら英語で何と言いますか？

“Yes, I get along with him.”「はい、仲いいですよ。」
でも伝わりますが、質問と同じイディオムで返答するのは少々不自然です。

そこで、
“Yes, we’re on good terms.” 「はい、いい関係ですよ。」
と言ってみましょう。自然な表現です。

On good terms -- a great idiom

but first let's do our test.

Okay so let's imagine that you have
started

studying English and I ask you... I say:

"So how's your English class? Is it
difficult?"

and you say "Yeah it's very very easy."

What's a better way to say this?

That's right "It's a walk in the park."
because

taking a walk in the park is really easy

so it's a walk in the park. I hope you
remember that

okay let's go on to today's idiom

on good terms. Okay so let's imagine

I'm talking to Taro, and Taro is my colleague

and there's another colleague, Kenji. And I say "Taro

do you get along with Kenji? Do you have
a good relationship with him?"

and Taro says "Yes

I get along with him." Okay not a bad answer, this is okay

but, you know my question is do you "get
along" with

Kenji -- and his answer is yes I "get along"

with him. He's using the same

you know, phrase get along. So just to

make it a little bit more natural we
often change

the phrase or vocabulary in our answer

like this: so if I ask "Taro, do you get
along with Kenji?"

and he says "Yes...

were on good terms." Yeah it means

he gets along with Kenji, he has a good
relationship

we Kenji but it's a little bit more
natural, yeah.

Yes we're on good terms. Okay

so let's practice pronunciation, it's

and don't use the same phrase
